South Carolina-based children’s book publisher Sylvan Dell debuted its second-generation picture book eBooks this week, and is celebrating the launch by offering a free trial of its 45 eBooks. The new eBooks include Auto-Flip and Auto-Read features; the text of each book can be listened to in either English or Spanish, and the publisher plans to add additional language options in time.

“I encourage parents and teachers to take a test-drive and see for themselves,” said Sylvan Dell publisher and cofounder Lee German in a statement. “For children wanting to learn a foreign language or ESOL families learning English, these are phenomenal tools.” To register for the trial period as well as for instructions and further information about the eBooks, visit the Sylvan Dell Web site. The trial period ends October 31. Last year, Sylvan Dell gave free licenses of its previous eBooks to more than 2,600 schools via its School Resource Grant program.

As an eBook author I’ve an interest in the advances of eBook technology.  This appears to be quite interesting since children’s books are graphic intensive.
