It's pretty hard to believe that three weeks of the New Year have passed already. Time flies when you're busy and it seems each year, each month, week and even day goes faster than the last one did. Time has flown in the Storey household. The winter break provided a good opportunity to do things with family that very well could be the last we all do together. That happens with growing children and with two seniors in the household you know this coming spring is going to be busy.

Despite the press on time, I'm still finding ways to keep my creativity going. One of the opportunities I avail myself of are little events called "Book in a Week." BIAW provides groups of writers an opportunity to set goals for the week and encourage one another on the road to accomplishing those goals. I first encountered BIAW through the RWA's local chapters in the Denver area. I regularly participate in BIAW with the Heart of Denver Romance Writers. If you are serious about your writing career, finding a professional writing organization will be a valuable resource.

One of the things writers are often asked is "Where do you get your ideas?"

The benefit of writing regularly is that it stimulates your creativity center and the longer you write the more you find your muse inspiring you with other ideas! So, write away dear friends.

And, if you're not a writer? Exercise your own creative center whether that be art, music, or some other endeavor.
